Garden Shots

Why are all of my pea leaves gnarled and spotted? How can I fix it?

    Have you applied any fungicide to your peas?

    I hadn't applied anything to them at all until I hit them with some Sevin dust yesterday. I'm thinking I might have a nematode problem in which case there isn't a lot I can do. The second set of new leaves looks less affected than the first so maybe they will outgrow the problem.

    You can find a lot of useful information on the Alabama Cooperative Extension System website @ http://www.aces.edu/ and you can get printed material from it by visiting one of its offices. Years ago the printed stuff was free, but they may charge for it by now.

    Some people say that planting marigolds among your veggies helps with a nematode problem, but the peas look more like they need to have a good broad spectrum fungicide applied ASAP.
