1. They are loyal family dogs that love children.
2. They are fearless
3. They are highly intelligent
4. They are utterly terrifying if they are not your dog and, as a result, people keep their distance.
I want one like the black-faced one in this picture.

The ones I am going to look at are black and sliver and will probably look more like these at first.

To me the darker the face the more frightening the dog.
I am getting a male and I am going to name him Saul. I can't wait!!

Ahhhh...adorable pups that will grow into great dogs. Of course, you know you'll have to keep us updated on the newest member of your family. There's nothing like a furbaby to get me to crawl out from under my rock ;-)

Oh my. I had forgotten how cute Shepherd puppies are. Congratulations.
Just curious, though... why Saul?
I'm a Great Dane person myself. The problem with Shepherds in the USA is that unless you go to a known breeder with some credentials, you never know what you'll end up with. A friend of mine went thru the local paper that stated "mother is on premisis". The pup's mother was a large and impressive dog with near perfect looks. The pup grew up and looked somewhat runtish with a greasy looking coat. Friendly dog but hardly worth the $450 bucks they shelled out for a pedigree.
mad patriot,
No particular reason for Saul...just like it because it sounds like a dog that will strike fear in the heart of strangers and that matches his looks.
