FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A former Alabama police officer accused of bringing weapons to what he thought would be a meeting with a 13-year-old girl will be featured tonight on "Dateline N-B-C's To Catch a Predator."
Todd Monroe Spikes was fired from the police department in Florala after his arrest during the online sting.
Police say Spikes drove almost five hours to Flagler Beach, Florida, in a sport utility vehicle filled with video cameras, handguns, an assault rifle and a shotgun to have sex with the girl -- who was really a decoy.
Police say Spikes also planned to have sex with her mother so he could secretly continue to have sex with the child.
Spikes was charged with attempted lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious exhibition and computer pornography and child exploitation.
Spikes has pleaded not guilty.
Flagler Beach police report arresting 21 men during the four-day sting.

Boy....that makes me feel safer! Isn't there some kind of screening process these folks should go through before we put them in charge of policing the citizenry with guns?
