Boy...you don't hear that often do you?
Frequent Marijuana Users are invited for a research study. Researchers are studying the effects of chronic marijuana use on brain structure, function, and mental abilities. The study involves a lengthy screening appointment, followed by two overnight hospitalizations at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Volunteers are compensated for participating (and for out-of-town travel). Brain imaging studies are done and volunteers take achievement tests and tests of various mental abilities. Volunteers must be current marijuana users, be from 24 to 44 years old, and be right-handed. Information about the identity of volunteers will be treated confidentially. For further information about the study and to see if you qualify, call Megan at 319-384-4157 or Jordan at 319-335-6907. For information about the researcher conducting this study click here.

you know, i'd love to participate in a study like that. unfortunately, with the way "users" are treated, i can't help but feel like it might be a set-up of some sort. (not that YOU are setting it up. just that things like that freak me out.) it shouldn't be that way. we all should be free to participate in whatever research study we wish (and to smoke pot as we wish, as long as it's responsibly) but i can't help but be made to feel like a criminal for even reading this blog...

Damn, I'm 47
Damn, I live in right by Iowa, but I'm left handed. That's ridiculous.
