HB196, the Gourmet Beer bill, will go to the house floor today for a vote.
Please call your representative and ask them to support this bill.
Here is a link to the bill in the event you have not read it.
HB196 Gourmet Beer Bill.
Basically, it would raise the allowable alcohol content in beer from 6 % to 13%, thereby allowing Alabama beer consumers more choices besides Budweiser, Coors, Miller, Busch, and Schlitz. (ICK!)
I don't drink beer that often...but when I do I would like to have more choices available than the mass produced, bottom dreg, swill that is currently legal in this state. Higher alcohol content beer means I can drink less of the nasty shit which is a measure of harm reduction.

Good luck to Stuart, Dan and the masses of unhappy, deprived beer consumers across the great state of Alabama.

Thanks for the post about the cause.
You are most welcome. I'll be watching closely. I called my Rep. this morning and asked her to vote yes on HB196.
