At the beginning of today's house session Rep. Mike Hubbard (R- Auburn) requested that all of the bills be read at length. The first bills are always uncontested local legislation. One of the first ones today was local Montgomery legislation that was 49 pages long. It took the entire first hour of the session to hear about Montgomery County retirement program rules....which I could care less about.
I understand that the Constitution provides for the bills to be read at length if one member requests it....but why request it on uncontested local legislation? Can Mike Hubbard not read it for himself? Is he illiterate? Does he have a reading fetish?
No. He is a sadist....plain and simple.
