Goodies for the kids

Bell and I just got done shopping for the family we adopted in Montgomery for Christmas. Here's what the kids are getting from the 'Santa donors'.

Many, many thanks for your generous contributions. One person doesn't have much power but together we can do great things.

Y'all hit the jackpot! Thanks so much for taking charge of this situation Loretta. This family has truly touched my heart. This is what Christmas SHOULD be about....thanks for helping make it a real one for Elijah and his family.

Wonderful! Thank you so much for doing this.

That looks great! Is there going to be some food in there somewhere? Ever practical, I'm worried about something to keep their ribs from sticking to their backbones for a while. A hungry kid is at a big learning disadvantage, one of the things that keeps poor kids poor all their lives.

Pastor Rosato at Friendship Mission is handling the food part or the equation. We divided it up into three areas. Food, toys and clothes and I got toys. He also said that since the story ran in the MA that food donations have gone thru the roof. Me and a few other people will be donating money to the Mission each week earmarked for Elijah's family so that he doesn't have to walk a long way to eat once a day.

Loretta, there is a quote for what you were talking about ...how it's hard to be one person to do things, but bringing more into the equation, is easier. That is a Helen Keller quote, "Alone I can do so little, together we can do so much". Also, did you see the article in the paper about Roberta Franklin helping the children of inmate families? I haven't heard from her lately, but I helped her one year with what I could. I would like to help you next year with your program. Just let me know. Last year my project was the little girl that has a brain tumor (on my website). She loves "My Little Pony", so if anyone is interested in sending her some My Little Ponys, please let me know.
