I haven't tried it, but we've considered it. Lately, we've discovered it was cheaper to bundle Internet, satellite service, and phone onto one bill. I have DSL, so I have to have an existing phone line, so I'm not sure how it would work for me.
Hi Loretta,
Have had Vonage since July 2005 and think it's outstanding. Everything you said is right on and now they have a V-phone for those of us who travel. It is a small, keychain size device that plugs into your USB port, has a wireless earpiece to it and you can make calls/check voice-mail from anywhere you get broadband signal. As you say, the only drawback is a broadband/wireless connection is needed.
By the way, BFYOB--Big fan of your blog!
