Scrushy son jailed on drug charges
INVERNESS -- Brandon Scrushy, son of HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy, was one of four people arrested in a drug bust where authorities found about 3,000 prescription painkillers.
Three of the four lived at a home on Blue Bell Lane in Inverness where the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force made the bust Tuesday, The Birmingham News reported on its Web site Wednesday.
Philip Thomas Camarada, 21, is charged with unlawful distribution and unlawful possession of a controlled substance; Brittany Edwards, 18, of Cahaba River Park is charged with unlawful distribution; Brandon Marin Scrushy, 22, is charged with unlawful drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Kayla Lynn Sellers, 19, is charged with unlawful possession.
Edwards was released Wednesday on $10,000 bond. The others remained in Shelby County Jail on Wednesday afternoon. Bond was $30,000 for Camarada, $11,000 for Scrushy and $10,000 for Sellers
