One More IMPORTANT Bill

HB150
This bill would create the Alabama Interagency Autism Coordinating Council which would require all the state agencies providing autism services to be under one umbrella so families with children suffering from Autism could coordinate their state autism services.

Some of you may be unaware but Rep. Cam Ward's daughter has autism and he has chaired the autism task force for the last year. The bill has passed the House and is out of committee in the Senate. We are just waiting for one final vote. I know a few other families with autistic children and they have a massive burden trying to get services for their kids. A little on autism follows...

Autism is a brain development disorder that impairs social interaction and communication, and causes restricted and repetitive behavior, all starting before a child is three years old. This set of signs distinguishes autism from milder autism spectrum disorders (ASD) such as Asperger syndrome.

Finish reading the rest of the Wiki entry on Autism.

There is an Alabama site for autism as well. Please visit Autism Alabama to find out other ways you can help. You may also contact Rep. Cam Ward by going to his website CamWard.com or by emailing him here

I need all of my readers, both those who love me and those who hate me to contact the Senate and ask them to pass HB150.
