Bills this week

I've already posted this but it bears repeating.

There are two very important bill coming up in committee meetings this week that I need your help to either pass or kill. The first one HB225 is a PASS bill.


HB225
Under existing law, the Governor and local political subdivisions are granted additional emergency powers during states of emergency.This bill would specify that these powers do not authorize the seizure or confiscation of firearms or ammunition from persons lawfully authorized to possess them and would specify certain conditions when a law enforcement officer may disarm an individual.

The second one is the 'moral turpitude' bill (HB436) where Troy King has added everything but farting in the supermarket to the list of crimes which constitute moral turpitude. We want to KILL THIS BILL!

I advise all of you interested in passing or killing these bills to both call and email. Email is simple and easy and many times legislators will not read them much less respond. A phone call takes a little more effort and many times you can catch them in the office before the committee meetings start. Faxes are also good and fax numbers can be found on the same page as the phone numbers.
