Sex-y Sermons in ...Cullman?

GoodSexGodsWay.com signs on Alabama HWY 69

Just kidding to any Baptist readers out there. But really, how many sermons can there be about the missionary position?

How naive people are about God and the Bible. Since when does the bible mention missionary style. The Bible is silent on what style and leaves that up to each married couple on how they want to pleasure each other. Basicly it is anything goes as long it is between husband and wife and no other person or animal is brought into the bedroom.

Honestly, if someone told me to have sex with my husband for seven straight days, I don't think I could follow through. I'd be sick of him by day four. That's not saying that I don't have the drive or that we don't have a healthy sex life, but damn... I have shit to do.

On a more serious note, and considering that I can give a Christian perspective on this... I find it amusing that some Christians find the subject so offensive and inappropriate. If they wish to decry certain sexual behaviors as a sin, then it ought to be discussed in the very place where you go for religious instruction.

And let's be serious... If you're a Christian and a member of a reasonably semi-sane church, I would WANT them to talk about sex and I want them to talk about it a lot. We're taught to believe that sex within our marriages is God's plan, and so as such, there is no better place to discuss it.

Oh anon #1 lighten up! I was only teasing. After all I am well aware that Christians can be into really twisted stuff when it comes to sex.

Oh dear... She's brought out the scuba gear story...

But I mean, hey... What's wrong with missionary? I like missionary.

I'd take missionary over Scuba any day. Those scuba suits are a lot harder to stuff oneself into than you might think. By the time you get one on you're too tired for anything fun...or so I hear :)

Being curious, I began wondering how the term “missionary position” originated so I did some reading about it. According to Wikipedia the term has nothing to do with missionaries and seems to have originated around 1948 in Alfred Kinsey’s male volume of the Kinsey Reports. Before that time the position had been referred to in numerous other ways. The positions assumed by the male and female aren’t always the same. There are variations to it, with the one thing common to all is that the partners face each other with the male assuming the dominant position.

As far as I’m concerned, since one of the goals of having sex is to provide enjoyment, do whatever it takes to float your boat as long as both boats rise on the same tide.
