Gadsden attorney Frank Bailey and an assistant district attorney from Coosa County were booked in at the Etowah County jail Wednesday night, but information about the charges was not released.

Bailey, 58, and Frank Sherman Teel, 59, were booked about 7:30 p.m.

Teel is an assistant district attorney in Coosa County. Both men are being detained for other agencies, jail records show.

Sources say the arrests are connected.

Boy oh boy I can't wait to see what this is all about. I don't know Frank Teel personally....but I knew his father (strike that...not father...brother) who was the District Court Judge in Coosa Co. for years...and I hated him. He was a monster.

And why is it that when attorneys and elected officials are arrested we are often not informed of the reason why right away? Yet, the common folks who get arrested have their name, picture, warrant, charges and drawer size splashed all over the front page of the hometown newspaper by sunrise?

Stay tuned....

Need to get your facts straight before you post. His father was NOT District Court Judge.

You're right. His brother was Judge Carlton Teel...not his father. You can un-wad your drawers now.

Just to let you know, too, Carlton Teel is still the district judge of Coosa County. Wasn't sure if you were aware or not. Supposedly he just heard about this a couple of hours ago.

I thought so.

Now, what was the old Judge Teel's name before his son or his nephew or his brother or his own grandpaw-daddy took over the bench? Is the old Teel, the one who was on the bench in 2000, still living? He is the only one I have ever had any personal dealings with. They were not pleasant.

Seems like the Teel family has a judicial monarchy going on over in Coosa County. Anyone could easily get confused about which one holds what post. God it's almost like incest!

I know! I was looking through the archives and came across yet another one that people around here call Bobby Teel. It's absurd. I'm not sure what he does or if he's still around. It's hard to keep them all straight!

AUalumna05, you stated referring to Carlton Teel "he suppoosedly just heard about this a couple of hours ago". So you are obviously close to the people involved. You know EXACTLY who Bobby Teel is and you KNOW if he's still around.

Loretta Nail, what grudge do you have against "the old Judge Teel"?? Were you one of the dead beat parents he put in jail? That's what he was known for in Coosa County.

Loretta Nall said...

Anon...My name is NALL not Nail....learn to read. And Robert (Bobby) Teel was the judge in Coosa before his son was elected to the position. I learned that from the old men's gossip tables at Shop N Fill in Coosa Co. this morning.

As for what old man Teel jailed me for...do some research on the blog here and you will find out. Hint: It wasn't for being a deadbeat parent as my oldest is a week from graduating from one of the top 10 high schools in Alabama and headed off to Auburn U. Honors college in the fall and my other one is on her way to the finest Art school in the state next year.

And why are you so angry that this is being discussed? Pissed that you won't get your cut of the $5 million now?

Loretta Nall said...

Oh yeah anon...I have your IP address. Perhaps I will do a little research of my own and disclose who you are or who you might be. That would make things even more interesting than they already are...no?

Loretta Nall said...

Oh yeah anon...Your boy Teel there is a real certifiable genius. How fucking dumb do you have to be to take a damn check in an extortion plot? I get tickled every time I think about it.

"Oh they'll never be able to trace this $1 million dollar check."

Could he really have thought that? Or, is he so arrogant because he likely has gotten away with so much for so long, that he feels untouchable? After all...he and his family control Coosa Co. so what did he have to worry about there?

You are the blogger, not me. Only suggested you get your facts straight before you post. Robert Teel, Jr. - Retired Judge. Carlton Teel - Present Judge (elected). Frank Teel - attorney, private practice & part-time assistant DA.. All brothers. Now... was that so hard?

Loretta Nall said...

Oh, now you were just trying to be helpful...is that it? Had that been the case you would have just laid out the Teel family genealogy in a polite way, since you appear to be intimately familiar with it. And anyone reading your previous comments can see that is not the case.

as i understand it, it was money to settle a civil lawsuit. the gadsden times article is so poorly written its hard to tell what the facts of the case are. i hope this isn't just a troy king political stunt..
